The Palmer Inn is the perfect setting for your retreat.
We are nestled in beautiful Currituck County, just 30 miles from
the Outer Banks and 60 minutes from Virginia Beach. Keeping with
the style of the time when it was built (circa 1850), our
inn is a restored old original homestead with a lovely Victorian
decor.
We offer three individual rooms and one suite, consisting
of two rooms. Our rooms are furnished with delicate lace and linens
and celebrate the ambiance of the wonderful Victorian era. All
rooms have a private bath and are kept in immaculate condition.
The smell of homemade bread, muffins, pancakes, and fresh
fruit will greet you as you wake from your cozy slumber on crisp
ironed sheets. Fresh brewed coffee and herbal tea will send you
on your way for a day of fun and sight-seeing on the North Carolina
coast.
Just minutes away, on the Outer Banks,
await attractions for every member in your party. These include
a protected wildlife habitat, hang gliding at Jockey's Ridge,
beautiful beaches, art galleries, and unique restaurants and shopping.
Just across the inlet in Manteo is the intriguing Lost Colony
and the gorgeous Christmas House. Or you can take a relaxing ferry
ride to Knotts Island and tour the Moonrise Bay and Martin Vineyards.
We are also just a short drive away from six large golf courses
and the Blackwater Training Center.
The Outer Banks is currently celebrating
the centennial of the First Flight by Orville and Wilbur Wright
on December 17, 1903. There will be numerous events scheduled
during the year. If you would like to find out more information
